There are many different types of strokes, but
they are all very serious. When it comes to strokes, they are
classified in two major categories and they are:
-
Ischemic Strokes
-
Hemorrhagic Strokes
About 80% of all strokes fall into the Ischemic
stroke category and are usually caused by conditions such as:
thrombosis, embolism, or hypoperfusion.
A Thrombosis stroke
is where a thrombus process develops in an artery. It is basically a
blood clot that will grow and narrow your blood flow. The blood clot
will then lead to you having a stroke.
An Embolism stroke
is caused by the blockage of an artery to any part of the brain
because of debris in the bloodstream. It is usually a blood clot,
but it can also be parts of your blood vessels or fat substances or
even debris in the blood stream.
It can also be caused from having cancer cells
in your blood. There are many reasons why you may have debris in the
blood stream, but it is mostly because of an infection or cancer
cell. That is why many people don't realize that they have cancer
until they experience a stroke.
A Hypoperfusion or watershed
stroke is from the reduction of blood flow to the entire body. It
can be caused by a heart failure or a cardiac arrest.
Also, it may be caused by a lower blood oxygen
content in the blood. Your blood flow may not be stopped, but since
it is greatly reduced, you will have some brain damage.
When a person is on illegal drugs like cocaine,
they will double their risk of experiencing an Ischemic stroke.
A Hemorrhagic stroke is a form of
stroke that will occur when a blood vessel in the brain bursts or
bleeds. The blood will irritate the brain matter and it will cause a
chemical imbalance. If the bleeding is allowed to continue, the
pressure will increase on the brain and serious complications and
possibly even death will follow.
A Subarachnoid hemorrhage is a
very common source of strokes and that is where you will bleed now
and then, but it will place you in a deep coma or cause death.
A stroke is a very serious medical condition.
It is because your blood supply is being disrupted and not getting
properly to the neuro system.
You will find that a stroke victim will lose
control over their brain function and parts of their body will be
affected. It is from the brain getting partially blocked or
completely blocked from the proper blood supply. Patients who do
survive a stroke will, in most cases, end up severely handicapped.
You will want to learn what your risks of
strokes are and if you are someone who is genetically linked to
having a stroke. Those who have a family history of strokes should
not increase their risk by smoking or indulging in alcohol abuse.

very same message out to all who are concerned about their own
personal health and wellness.
In today's insanely fast paced and multi-tasked society, it's very
easy for us to slip into the habit of not providing our body with
the proper nutrition needed to keep it running like the well oiled
machine that God designed it to be. Consequently, this poor
nutrition leads to high blood pressure, strokes and even fatal heart
attacks along with many other illnesses.
