A stroke can be very scary to say
the least!
You will find that it can cause some part of the brain to loss
control over a certain part of the body or you may lose
consciousness since your blood supply to the brain is interrupted.
You might want to think of a stroke as being very similar to a
"short circuit" in an electrical system.
The brain is very similar to an electrical system because it sends
out "impulses" to all the various parts and functions of the body by
way of the nervous systems.
The nerves are similar to all of the wires involved in an electrical
system.
When the brain doesn't get enough
oxygen it can not function properly and it causes something very
similar to a "short circuit" in an electrical system.
If you have a broken wire (a short circuit) in an electrical system,
the electrical current is blocked and can not complete the flow
necessary to operate properly.
When you have a stroke you will feel a sudden loss of neuro or nerve
function.
There are many reasons why you might have a stroke and there are
different parts of the brain and body that are affected by a stroke.
There are people who do not
survive a stroke, and that is why it is important that you avoid the
risk factors of a stroke.
Some factors that you can control
are:
-
Smoking
-
High blood pressure
-
High cholesterol
You will also find that diabetes,
heart trouble, and migraines with aura will put you at risk.
When it comes to strokes, you will find that they are also sometimes
referred to as a brain attack.
This is because when a person is experiencing a stroke it effects
the brain more than anything.
As you become more familiar with strokes you will learn they are
caused by the flow of blood being cut off somehow from the brain.
It can be very scary to deal with someone who is experiencing a
stroke. You shouldn't panic, but you will want to
CALL 9-1-1 IMMEDIATELY to get professional medical help for the person.
You will want to ask the dispatcher what you can do to help the
person who is possibly experiencing a stroke. The dispatcher will
give you some instructions and you will want to follow them exactly.
You will also have to think about getting the person some medical
attention after they are released from the hospital.
Most people who experience a stroke will need to look into some form
of home medical care like the services of a visiting nurse. You may
need to have someone with them always.
There are tons of reasons why you will want to get them a home
nurse, but it should be because you need to give them a lot of
attention and sometimes it is just better for you to have a
medically experienced person to handle the daily routine of caring
for a stroke patient.
There are some signs of a stroke that you will want to pay very
close attention to.
There are lot of people who will experience more strokes after their
first stroke. Sometimes they may only have a mini stroke, and then
there are times when people will experience a full-blown stroke.
There is always some form of nerve damage, (called "neuro damage")
when there is a stroke, however, what you do to react to the signs
may make the difference between life or death.
Patients who survive a stroke may be severely handicapped depending
on the severity of the stroke.
Strokes are not something that you should take lightly. You will
want to treat it like it is a heart attack.
You will want to treat a stroke
like any other medical disorder.
You will find that it can be just as deadly as any other medical
condition, such as a heart disease.

very same message out to all who are concerned about their own
personal health and wellness.
In today's insanely fast paced and multi-tasked society, it's very
easy for us to slip into the habit of not providing our body with
the proper nutrition needed to keep it running like the well oiled
machine that God designed it to be. Consequently, this poor
nutrition leads to high blood pressure, strokes and even fatal heart
attacks along with many other illnesses.
